Smack bang in front of the St Kilda Sea Baths - complete with funky tunes, this is one of the most fun Beach Volleyball experiences bar none. All teams and individuals welcome (first in best dressed) for weekly beach volleyball tournaments so gather up your work mates, your other mates, or enter on your own and we'll hook you up.

Each participant will receive a FREE pot/wine or softie from Republica as well as pizza for all at the end of the night.

When:    Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays!!             

               Check in from 6pm - matches start 630pm

Cost:      $80/team = $20/player or $15/student

EACH TOURNAMENT WILL HAVE 2 DIVISIONS:

Got Gamers - for Intermediate/Advanced

Hit & Gigglers - for Beginners

Here are the specifics of the nights:

The Republica events are mixed 4-a-side social beach volleyball. Cost is $80 per team. You can have more or less, but the price is still the same, you just rotate players on and off the court as required. Students only $15

We welcome players to come along by themselves, often teams turn up with less than 4 and grab a new friend for the night. It is difficult for me to keep track of who requires a team mate in advance as I generally find out on the night.

We play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The competitions are independent of each other. The referees record the final score of all the games and I enter them into a spreadsheet to produce a ladder. After about 6 weeks, we have a finals night to produce a Season winner, then we start all over again.

We do 20 minute games. Each team gets at least 3 games, so a total of 1 hr of play. We play a game, watch a game, play a game, and so on for the night.

We tell teams to get there at 6pm, and we start as soon as we have enough teams, so usually about 6:20. We play through until 2 hours after we start.

Republica sponsors the event and gives one amazingly good pizza to every team and a free beer to every player. We all meet straight after the last game in the big tent inside the court yard of Republica to socialize and enjoy the food.

If it is raining, we will post a note on the website and email our contacts by 5pm. If we email after 5pm, we will send out an sms too.

As the event is such good value and so much fun, and we are limited for court space, it is essential to register for each event. If I don’t know that you are coming down, I can’t reserve your place in the draw. I generally send out an email the day before to get registrations. To reserve your spot, just respond to that email.
