The Victorian Volleyball Academy’s beach program (VVA Beach)

VVA Beach caters specifically for players seeking to play competitive pairs beach volleyball. Our program includes a complete pathway encompassing juniors, beginner and intermediate levels through to elite competition including National Tour and FIVB World Tour. VVA’s coaches include Haydn Ellis (program director), Al Lyne (VicBeach / BeachPlay and National Tour player), Damien Schumann (FIVB World Tour player) and Sandra Carter (BeachPlay and National Tour player).

Sessions are run each Saturday. High level women also train at 6am on Wednesday mornings. Please follow the VicBeach coaching calendar page for updates on session times. Alternatively, regular updates can be found on the Victorian Volleyball Academy and the VicBeach FaceBook pages.

All sessions are run at South Melbourne Beach using the VicBeach court facilities. VVA’s wet weather policy is to move Saturday training indoors to Sandstorm Altona if required (Crnr Dohertys Road and Grieve Parade Altona). Wednesday mornings will be cancelled if weather is poor.

VVA also runs regular training camps for intermediate and higher level players.

Sessions are $20 per person. 10% of VVA coaching income is donated to VicBeach.

VVA coaches are available for private coaching. For more information contact Haydn Ellis at haydnaellis@gmail.com.
