About Vic Beach

Vic Beach was born out of a passion to expand our brilliant sport and deliver quality events and activities to our wonderful beach volleyball community.

Originally begun by beach legends, Peter "Chico" Jones and Greg Jury, it was then joined by Tony Hampton and Allister "Big Al" Lyne. Chico is running Beach Volleyball in Moolooba in Queensland, Greg is running a Beach Volleyball centre in Geelong and Tony manages the King Parrot Cottages in a fabulous part of the world in the Otway Ranges.

Vic Beach has been very successful with its charter resulting in continued growth of the sport over many years.

Vic Beach is currently in the large and capable hands of Allister "Big Al" Lyne.

Allister "Big Al" Lyne

Big Al has been playing volleyball since 1996. He started on the wooden floor with his brother playing for Mornington until he discovered the joys that volleyball on the beach can bring and hasn’t looked back since. He has played all around this country as well as representing Australia throughout the rest of the world.

Al has lots of experience as a tournament director and coach and loves working on the beach with the Vic Beach Community very much.

MBVA

Established in 2011, our goal is to help guide the growth of beach volleyball in our region by providing a support network for players at all levels including a robust knowledge base among coaches, pathways to success for youth and beginners, and a continued high standard of play that is expected from beach volleyball in Victoria.

MBVA is based in South Melbourne, Victoria and serves the beach volleyball community throughout the Port Phillip Bay and greater Melbourne community.

Since the 2011-2012 season, MBVA has retained the services of beach volleyball event experts, Vic Beach, to manage tournaments and leagues at South Melbourne and St Kilda beaches.

For 6 years, Vic Beach have been the face of beach volleyball in Victoria, and we rely on their experience and exceptional event management knowledge to ensure we maintain the same high standards that our players have come to expect from beach volleyball in our community.
